LA QUE SABE _2024/2025

La Que Sabe is an artistic project that explores migrant identity as a process of movement and constant transformation from a feminine perspective, influenced by the artist’s Mesoamerican and Jewish heritage. Femininity is marked by a cyclical awareness, offering a unique vision of migration as a continuous transformation rather than a linear journey with a defined beginning and end. Migration is not only a geographical journey but also a path of self-exploration and the discovery of one's own voice.

Physical and generational migrations, along with internal and spiritual cycles, address the need to understand our place within these movements, whether between cultures or in our personal evolution. Reclaiming a sense of belonging—whether physical or symbolic—is essential as an act of self-knowledge and empowerment, a search for a place that may not exist in the present or in the material world, but in our deepest desires for belonging and self-realization.

The project delves into the rituals, visions, and values of femininity within the two main cultures that shape the artist’s identity to portray this perspective on migration. Technically, it experiments with materials and sounds from these cultures, such as clay for sculptures and plaques, amate paper for compositions, and the sounds of instruments like the shofar, the oud, and the marimba to create multisensory works that interact with space beyond the physical and visual.

BANALIDAD DEL MAL _2024

The Banality of Evil is an art exhibition that invites viewers to explore the nature of evil, drawing from Hannah Arendt’s theory of The Banality of Evil. This series of works suggests that we have failed to fully understand the nature of evil, delving into the unsettling reality that acts of wrongdoing are not always carried out by monstrous figures but by ordinary people who abandon their personal moral judgment in favor of collective ideologies.

The banality of evil does not mean that acts of malice are trivial or lack seriousness; on the contrary, it highlights the alarming normalcy of those who commit them. These works aim to shed light on some of the social conditions that lead ordinary individuals to participate in cycles of wrongdoing.

As Hannah Arendt said, “Evil comes from a failure to think. Only through an active and conscious engagement with the moral dimensions of our individual and collective actions can we hope to illuminate and ultimately dispel the persistent shadow of the banality of evil in our world.” Recognizing our capacity for evil is essential in acknowledging our potential for good.

MITOCONDRIA_2023

Mitochondria is a series in which I explore my vision of the universe, the interconnectedness of all elements, the workings of nature, and the energies that drive the cosmos. It reflects the dilemma of my relationship with the universe and humanity—my process of breaking away from innocence and trust in a divine order, finding peace in uncertainty, and placing responsibility in human consciousness.
