NÚCLEO
MITOCONDRIA
Perros Mediterráneos, October - November 2024
Núcleo is a meditation on rupture and return—on what remains when identity fractures and on what is uncovered in the process. Born from the grief and disorientation that followed October 7th, the works explore the psychic terrain of diaspora, inherited trauma, and spiritual survival. Symbols drawn from archetypal figures and visceral images of transformation are felt in the body before they’re understood intellectually. They express transformation in a deeply physical or emotional sense— rupture, survival, migration—not just as ideas, but as experiences that are lived through flesh, memory, and sensation.
The exhibition invites reflection on the body as a vessel, memory as myth, and ancestry as a living presence. It asks what it means to long for something lost or perhaps never fully known. Núcleo holds space for contradiction: for the pain of loss and the persistence of soul, for belonging and estrangement, for the sacred and the broken.
